The original paintings reproduced in this work were first presented at the New York World's Fair, which was opened in April Szyk's twenty paintings, which were exhibited in the Polish Pavilion, depicted the contribution of the Poles to the history of the United States, and different connections between both countries.
Szyk's series was published as a postcard set for popular distribution. Minor creasing and age-toning to envelope. Very minor and sporadic foxing at verso of last postcard.

Newspaper is in good condition with heavy wear to spine, small holes where once bound on spine, 1" closed tear in middle of spine, affecting content, moderate chipping at fore edge and heavy toning throughout; Real Photo Postcard is in very good condition with light creasing to top edge, light wear at corners and light soiling on verso. The gruesome San Jose lynching stemmed from the kidnapping and murder of Brooke Hart, the son of a local department store owner.
